Four award-winning Apprentices
- Best part-time student of the Year – for three students who attended Thanet College whilst completing their Apprenticeship with us.
- Bosch Apprenticeship – Apprentice Tom completed this early and with Distinctions in April 2023. Nominated by Bosch for IMI Apprentice of the Year Award 2023. He finished in the Top30 in the UK – a fantastic achievement! He is now on the Bosch Diagnostic Pathway
- Foreman – has completed Bosch Diagnostic Technician qualification and is now on Bosch Master Tech Pathway – a highly respected qualification
- Latest 18-year-old Bosch Apprentice joined in July 2023
There are 90,000 vacancies within the automotive sector – this is at a 21 year high – It is important to encourage and attract people to the sector.
There has been a reduction in the number of garages across the UK – due to the impact of covid closures, retirement, owners selling for redevelopment; there is a lack of young people joining the industry, and lack of investment – Broadstairs MOT Centre is determined to invest and evolve
Reduced expertise in industry is leading to reduced consumer choice and availability – dealerships across the country have 6-8 week lead times for bookings due to staff shortage and skills shortage. The education system and garages must invest in our future technicians.
The Bosch Apprenticeship is a highly respected Scheme teaching candidates key skills in diagnosis, service and repair of vehicles. Once completed, it allows individuals to continue on the Bosch Diagnostic Tech and Master Tech pathways. This continued professional development means consumers have highly-skilled and trained professionals working on their vehicles who are abreast of the latest technological advancements and who have the access and understanding to the latest high-level tooling to help correctly diagnose and repair vehicles.
